Announcement
Dear ACLALS conference participants,
We are please to announce to you that we have renegotiated some of the services regarding the ACLALS conference in order to make the event a lot more accessible to everyone. More precisely the following new rates/new services apply as of today:
1. Hilton Hotel - five star property (closest to the University of Cyprus - Venue) Single room at 100 Euros per person/room, Double room at 122 Euros per room, and Triple at 144 Euros per room. All rates are inclusive of breakfast. Thus, if you find two colleagues to share the room with you may stay in a Triple room at the Hilton for as low as 48 Euros per person per day on Bed and Breakfast.
2. We have added two new low cost hotels in our portfolio of hotels available for booking at www.easyconferences.org. These are the Crown Inn and The Averof. Their rates are 45 Euros per person/room for a Single room, 65 Euros per room for a Double room and 82.50 Euros per room for a Triple room for the Averof Hotel, and 52 Euros per person/room for a Single room, 70 Euros per room for a Double room for the Crown Inn. All rates are inclusive of breakfast. Please note that these hotels are within 40 minute walk from the venue hotel and 15-20 minutes’ walk from the city centre (location of all other hotels on offer). Kindly note that as these hotels are small, only a small number of rooms is available and bookings will be taken in strictly on a first come first served basis.
3. The organizing committee is in negotiations with the local bus company to offer free or low cost bus transportation to the venue hotel from the city centre. More details will be announced at a later stage. Please refer to the conference website later, www.cyprusconferences.org/aclals2010Â for more details.
4. With regard to airport transportation please note that as mentioned on the conference website, http://www.cyprusconferences.org/aclals2010/index.php?page=travel-info,we have also organized conference buses from Larnaca airport to your hotels and back to the airport with the company M. Kapnos Coaches Ltd. The roundtrip fare is €20. In order to prepare the ACLALS bus schedule please send the information listed below to the following e-mail: marioskapnos@live.co.uk
Please send this information by April 30. The bus schedules will be posted on the web-page by May 17. If you have already paid for a taxi reservation through the conference registration page this cheaper option is still a possibility. Contact Dreamscape, info@cyprusconferences.org, for reimbursement.
5. With regard to private transfers offered through www.easyconferences.org, please note that if up to four persons travelling together, they may share a taxi. Only one person should select the service and should mention in the notes the names of the persons he/she will be sharing with. In case of more people travelling together then please email us and we will be happy to arrange a minibus/coach transfer.
6. With regard to lunches during the conference please note that we have renegotiated with the Hilton and you may now book your buffet lunch through www.easyconferences.org. The cost for the buffet is 20.00 Euros per person. This special offer is inclusive of selection of food, fruits, dessert and mineral water, (Normal rate is 30 Euros per person excluding water and soft drink). Furthermore, please note that a small number of eating establishments are situated within walking distance to the venue, and our staff will be happy to provide you with menus and directions to get there during the conference.
7. Early Registration Extension - After numerous requests due to the Easter Holidays, the Local Organizing committee has decided to extend the "Early Registration Period" up to the 23rd of April 2010, 00:00 (Cyprus time, GMT+2).
