Limassol or Lemesos is the second‐largest city in Cyprus. The Hellenic Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in cooperation with the University of Cyprus announces the 9th HSTAM International Congress on Mechanics to be held in Limassol from 12‐14 July, 2010.

Limassol is renowned for its long cultural tradition, wide spectrum of activities and a great number of museums and archaeological sites. Limassol attracts a wide range of tourists mostly during an extended summer season to be accommodated in a wide range of hotels and apartments. Based in Nicosia, the University of Cyprus consists of six Schools with a total of 21 Departments and a student body of about 5500.
