The use of population genetics and genomic tools, together with classic common\u00a0garden study approaches, will be discussed\u00a0as powerful tools to understand invasions by forest pathogens. However,\u00a0several case studies\u00a0will also demonstrate that the theory of &#8220;lack of co-evolution&#8221; has been unjustly over-utilized to explain\u00a0biological invasions by tree and plant pathogens.
