researching through embodied practices and story-sharing; and creating aesthetic representations as means to critically examine systems and relationships of power, then envision and enact alternative models. It will also be fun! Augusto Boal said: “Anyone can do theater, even actors. And theater can be done everywhere. Even in a theater.”

“The Theater of the Oppressed is a joyful and pedagogical method, an efficient instrument of communication and inquiry for concrete alternatives to real problems, through aesthetic means. It creates conditions so that the oppressed appropriate the means to produce theater and consequently, amplify their expressive possibilities. By eliminating the barrier between the stage and audience, the TO establishes an active, democratic, and purposive dialogue”. Barbara Santos

MAX PARTICIPATION: 20

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Social & Cultural EventsWelcome Reception with Jazz Trio Date: Sunday July 06Location: UCY CampusTime: 19:00-21:00 Come early for your registration on Sunday evening (18:30-19:00) and join us for a welcome reception on the UCY campus, under the canopy of the Leventis Senate Building and the beautiful Nicosia sky!
