It is essential that you stay to time, both out of respect to your fellow presenters (i.e., so you are not encroaching into their allotted time) and to ensure that the conference program runs to time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>There will be <strong><u>3-5 minutes of questions after each talk (i.e., each presenter is allocated 15 minutes inclusive of presentation and question time)<\/u><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>We strongly urge that you consult with the other presenters in your group (i.e., within your symposium or oral talks) to avoid repeating the same background information, especially when talks are focused on similar questions (i.e., you might consider having the first person to present provide a brief overview of the topic at hand to avoid repetition across the symposium\/set of talks).<\/li>\n<li>In addition, please keep in mind that the SSSP audience is a knowledgeable and, in many cases, expert audience when it comes to general background pertaining to the definitions, significance, and importance of studying psychopathy\/CU traits. We urge that you keep such content to a minimum within presentations and prioritize getting to the <strong><u>unanswered question<\/u><\/strong>, <strong><u>knowledge gap<\/u><\/strong>, or <strong><u>hypothesis<\/u><\/strong> that your study was designed to test.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong><u>oral talks<\/u><\/strong>: the <strong><u>first named presenter<\/u><\/strong> in each group will be responsible for timing \u2013 please hold up the 5- and 1-minute cards to signal to other presenters when they need to finish (cards will be provided by the local host)<\/li>\n<li>For <strong><u>symposiums<\/u><\/strong>: either the <strong><u>moderator<\/u><\/strong> or <strong><u>discussant<\/u><\/strong> from within each group is responsible for timing \u2013 please hold up the 5- and 1-minute cards to signal to other presenters when they need to finish (cards will be provided by the local host).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Blitz Talks<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Blitz Talks should last <strong><u>no more than 3 minutes<\/u><\/strong>. It is essential that you stay to time, both out of respect to your fellow presenters (i.e., so you are not encroaching into their allotted time) and to ensure that the conference program runs to time.<\/li>\n<li>PowerPoint presentations should be composed of <strong><u>no more than 3 slides, equating to three \u201cclicks\u201d to move slides forward (i.e., extensive animations within slides to circumnavigate the 3-slide rule is discouraged)<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>As with oral talks, please keep in mind that the SSSP audience is knowledgeable when it comes to general background pertaining to the definitions, significance, and importance of studying psychopathy\/CU traits. Such content is not required for Blitz Talks. Consider structuring your 3 slides as follows:\n<ul>\n<li>Slide 1: <strong><u>Unanswered question<\/u><\/strong>, <strong><u>knowledge gap<\/u><\/strong>, or <strong><u>hypothesis<\/u><\/strong> that your study addressed<\/li>\n<li>Slide 2: <strong><u>Methods<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Slide 3: <strong><u>Results and Takeaway<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><u>Posters<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 14px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The poster size requirement is approximately 33&#8243; x 47&#8243; (84cm x 119cm)<\/li>\n<li>Consider using the following resources creating posters that are simple and effective:\n<ul>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biorender.com\/poster-builder\">https:\/\/www.biorender.com\/poster-builder<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/betterposters.blogspot.com\/\">https:\/\/betterposters.blogspot.com\/<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Keep in mind that the goal of your poster is to present the information about your study in an organized and easy-to-follow format. Keep the text content of the text as simple as possible (i.e., brief bullet points, not full sentences) and the font as large as possible (i.e., important information should be readable from about 10 feet away).<\/li>\n<li>Prioritize figures, different colors, and graphics to keep your poster attractive and functional.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare an \u201celevator pitch\u201d of 30-40 seconds to share with colleagues who come to look at your poster so that you can effectively walk them through the unanswered question, knowledge gap, or hypothesis that your study was designed to test, how you did it (i.e., sample\/methods), and what you found.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text module_id=&#8221;poster&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;||-7px|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5><strong>IMPORTANT NOTES<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold;\"><\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-size: 14px; background-color: #ffffff;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold;\">Each Poster has been allocated a number in the session<\/span>.
