Constructionism 2027
Constructionism Without Borders: Learning Across Cultures in a Changing World
Limassol, Cyprus • November 10-13, 2027
Constructionism 2027 will bring the international constructionist community to the Mediterranean city of Limassol, Cyprus, from 10-13 November 2027. Hosted by the Cyprus University of Technology, Cyprus College, and CTL Eurocollege, the conference continues the tradition of bringing together researchers, educators, makers, designers, artists, technologists, and learners who share a commitment to constructionist approaches to learning. We also celebrate the tools and technology through which learners construct, explore, and express ideas.
Building on previous Constructionism conferences, the 2027 edition invites participants to explore how constructionist ideas can support learning across diverse cultural, linguistic, geographic, and socioeconomic contexts. As educational communities become more connected through digital technologies, while still responding to local challenges and opportunities, Constructionism 2027 asks how learning-by-making, creativity, participation, and collaboration can flourish across borders.
Constructionism has always paid attention to how materials shape the way we think and create. Computers and representations such as computer code have a special place in constructionist work. Constructionism makes the computational medium explicit rather than assumed, and treats it as inherently interdisciplinary: learners think with computers through the arts, mathematics, science, language, and craft, and across cultures and contexts. For Constructionism 2027, we invite contributors to be clear about the role the computational medium plays in the learning they describe.
Cyprus, at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, has long been a meeting point of cultures, languages, and traditions, making it a natural place to discuss global collaboration, intercultural dialogue, and inclusive educational innovation.
