Workshop description:
In this workshop researchers working in OpenUP will present the initial results of the landscape scan of current tools and methods for peer review and the summary of the user-centered survey on open peer review. The second part of the workshop will engage the participants in a discussion on the problematic status of the established publishing system and the developments in the review process (alternative review tools and their integration into the present scholarly communication system). Group discussions will focus on questions such as the changing role of reviewers, transparency in the review process and incentives to review.

Workshop description:
During this workshop participants will be introduced to text mining using the ContentMine software for text and data mining (TDM).
After a brief introduction and presentation on the results of European funded project FutureTDM we will continue with a hands-on introduction on using Text and Datamining using the ContentMine software.
We will explain the steps needed for TDM with examples to illustrate how text mining can be used for research. Participants are invited to join us to learn about and share their experiences with Text and Datamining.
No previous experience is needed, participants that want to follow the examples are asked to bring their computer with the ContentMine software pre-installed. http://contentmine.org/

Open science Set Free - OpenAIRE infrastructure and services for researchers and research stakeholders

Workshop description:
The workshop aims to present the Open Science infrastructure, tools and services that allow researchers to align with European Union's and national Open Access and Open Research Data policies and mandates. Having OpenAIRE as a benchmark, related projects outputs will be presented to cover the field of the support of Open Science.
Furthermore, the ways researchers can use the OpenAIRE services and other projects outputs related to infrastructures and training for Open Access compliancy will be presented. More particularly, the workshop will focus on the OpenAIRE tools and services and the resources created by projects FOSTER and PASTEUR4OA and how stakeholders can use them in research lifecycle. Participants will be able to be informed about best practices, advocacy material and training material created and provided to interested stakeholders for the support of Open Science vision.
This workshop will briefly guide participants through the main infrastructure, services, support information and tools that EU projects offer for Horizon 2020 Open Access mandates, focusing in the following agenda topics:
- Introduction to the H2020 policies – OpenAIRE support of projects and researchers in complying with the policies (Publications and Research data)
- Policy advocacy material for research funders.
- Repositories / Zenodo – Criteria for selecting a repository.
- Training material for different stakeholders for the support of open science, and access to the research output
- Interactive session with researchers and/or other stakeholders on challenges faced
