Vito Emanuele Cambria is a leading expert in Mediterranean ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Cambria has coordinated and contributed to several high-impact international projects, including LIFE PRIMED, LIFE SEEDFORCE, and NaturAL, focusing on restoring priority habitats and implementing innovative conservation strategies. His work bridges science, policy, and practice, promoting sustainable management of ecosystems and habitats across Europe.

As the Leader of the GENMEDA WG Seed Force International, Dr. Cambria fosters collaboration among Mediterranean countries to enhance ex-situ plant conservation. He is Co-Chair of the Biodiversa+ BiodivRestore Knowledge Hub, where he supports the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation across Mediterranean countries. His leadership extends to managing multidisciplinary teams and facilitating cross-border initiatives that align with European environmental policies.

Dr. Cambria holds a PhD in Landscape Ecology from the University of Padova, with research focused on urban green infrastructure and participatory science. He also earned a Master’s in Ecobiology from Sapienza University of Rome and completed advanced training in European Project Management through the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce of Brussels.

Dr. Cambria has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications on biodiversity monitoring, vegetation patterns, and ecological restoration. His research supports the advancement of knowledge and the implementation of practical solutions, with a particular focus on Mediterranean ecosystems.
