Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct for a Safe EARLI SIG 18 2024 Conference

EARLI SIG 18 2024 conference is dedicated to providing an enjoyable and safe conference experience for everyone. As a community, we value and respect all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, neurodiversity, disability, or any other aspect that, in fact, makes our community diverse and more inclusive. The EARLI SIG 18 2024 Conference Organizers will not tolerate vilification, abuse, or harassment in any form.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

We are aware that cultural or any other differences may cause misunderstandings, but we do expect all EARLI SIG 18 2024 participants to be both polite and proactive, and to ensure a pleasant conference experience for everyone.

If a participant engages in behavior that places any conference participant at risk, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including, but not limited to, warning the offender or expelling them from the conference without previous notice and with immediate effect. If this occurs, the participant is not entitled to any refund and/or any compensation. Participants asked to stop any such behavior are expected to comply immediately. The national law will be followed, as necessary.

In the unpleasant situation you feel unsafe or harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, contact our Safe Conference Care Team through the following ways:
•by email to the earlisig18safety@easyconferences.eu
•by filling in the form found through the QR code (see below)

You can find the names of the Safe Conference Care Team on the conference website. The Team will be available to assist those members who need support during the conference. The email contact will remain in effect until August 28, 2024.
We expect all participants to always follow this Code of Conduct throughout the conference duration. We are committed to a safe, enjoyable, and productive conference for all participants. We count on the collaboration of all attendees in achieving this goal.
Thank you for contributing to a safe EARLI SIG 18 2024 conference!
