The International Working Group on Non-Dominant Varieties of Pluricentric Languages (WGNDV) is pleased to announce its 12th Conference on Pluricentric Languages and their Non-Dominant Varieties, which will take place from 7 to 9 October 2027 at the University of Cyprus, Nicosia, Cyprus.
The conference will bring together researchers, academics, educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest developments in the study of pluricentric languages and their non-dominant varieties. It provides an international forum for presenting current research, fostering collaboration, and advancing scholarly dialogue on the linguistic, social, educational, and cultural dimensions of pluricentricity.
Building on the success of the previous conference series, the 12th WGNDV Conference continues a long-standing tradition of promoting interdisciplinary research and international cooperation in the field. Previous conferences and workshops were held in Graz (2011), Salamanca (2012), Guildford (2014), Graz (2015), Mainz (2017), Nitra (2018), Graz (2019), Stockholm (2019), Graz (2021), Leipzig (2023), and Lisbon (2025). These meetings have significantly advanced pluricentric language research and have produced numerous scholarly publications that continue to shape the field.
The Organising Committee warmly welcomes participants from across disciplines and regions to join the WGNDV community in Nicosia for three days of engaging discussions, knowledge exchange, and international networking at the University of Cyprus.
