Eva Kaili is a Member of the European Parliament, elected in 2014.

In her capacity as the Chair of the European Parliament's Science and Technology Options Assessment body (STOA) she has, been working intensively on promoting innovation as a driving force of the establishment of the European Digital Single Market. She has been particularly active in the fields of blockchain technology, m/eHealth, big data, fintech and cybersecurity.

Since her election she has also been very active in the field of taxation, where she has been the Rapporteur of the ECON committee's annual tax report. As a member of the ECON committee she has been focusing on EU's financial integration and the management of the financial crisis in the Eurozone.

Prior to her position in the European Parliament, she has been elected two times in the Greek Parliament (serving between 2007-2012), with the PanHellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK). She holds a Bachelor degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering, and Postgraduate degree in European Politics. Currently, she is conducting her PhD in International Political Economy.

Garrick Hileman

Dr Garrick Hileman is a Research Fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, Judge Business School, where he heads blockchain and cryptocurrency research. He was recently ranked as one of the 100 most influential economists in the UK and Ireland and he is regularly asked to share his research and perspective with the FT, BBC, CNBC, WSJ, Sky News, and other media. Garrick has been invited to present his research on monetary and financial innovation to government organisations, including central banks and war colleges, as well as private firms such as Visa, Black Rock, and UBS. Garrick has 20 years' private sector experience with both startups and established companies such as Visa, Lloyd's of London, Bank of America, The Home Depot, and Allianz. Garrick's technology experience includes co-founding a San Francisco-based tech incubator, IT strategy consulting for multinationals, and founding MacroDigest, which employs a proprietary algorithm to cluster trending economic analysis and perspective.

Panos Panay

Panos is the Vice President for Innovation and Strategy at Berklee College of Music, the Managing Director of the Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE) and a passionate entrepreneur, educator and startup mentor.

As the founder of Sonicbids, he created the leading platform for emerging artists to connect with music promoters, resulting in over 1 million gigs booked in over 80 countries around the world . He led the company as CEO for 13 years, from its inception until after its successful acquisition in a deal backed by Guggenheim Partners.

Panos is also the co-founder of the Open Music Initiative, which has brought together over 170 leading music, media, technology industry organizations and academic institutions to create an open protocol for uniform identification of musical rights owners and creators.

At Berklee, his work and approach to entrepreneurial and innovation pedagogy builds heavily on the concepts of music thinking as a catalyst for innovation and creative breakthroughs in business, life and art; and has spearheaded multi-disciplinary collaborations between Berklee and MIT Media Lab; the design firm IDEO; and Brown University.

Awards include: Fast Company's "Fast 50" honor; Inc Magazine's "Inc 500"; Mass Hi-Tech All Stars; Berklee College's Distinguished Alumnus Award; and Boston Business Journal's "40 under 40", BostInno's 50 on Fire and Boston Globe's 2017 Game Changers. Sonicbids and Panos were also profiled in a chapter in the Financial Times-published book "Outsmart" by best-selling author Jim Champy.

Antonis Polemitis

Mr. Polemitis is the CEO of the University of Nicosia and also serves as a Director on the coordinating Board of the University. Mr. Polemitis has international experience consulting private equity firms, merchant banks and multi-billion dollar private investment funds, in business process outsourcing and higher education practice. He leads the industry advisory committee for the University on blockchain and co-teaches the introductory MOOC of the MSc in Digital Currency Program.

Emmanuel Viale

Emmanuel Viale is the Managing Director of the Accenture Technology Labs in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Emmanuel has a particular focus on Blockchain technologies, covering payments, transactions, security and the broader IoT-related applications of this technology area. He is leading the global Technology R&D for Accenture around blockchain. Emmanuel and his team have focused on Blockchain technology since mid-2014, working with different technology stacks/solutions/startups (including: DAH, Ripple, Monax, Multichain, Etherum, etc.), developing different use cases and working proof-of-concepts for different industries and areas.

Emmanuel holds a degree in Signal Processing and Computer Science from the Ecole Centrale de Marseille, France, and lives in the South of France.

John Bass

John Bass is the Founder and CEO of Hashed Health, a healthcare innovation firm focused on accelerating the design, development and meaningful utilization of blockchain technologies and networks. John has over 20 years of experience in healthcare technology with expertise in collaborative health platforms, patient engagement, systems integration, supply chain, clinical performance and value-based payments. Andreas Antonopoulos

Andreas M. Antonopoulos is a technologist and serial entrepreneur who has become one of the most well-known and well-respected figures in bitcoin. He is the author of two books: "Mastering Bitcoin", published by O'Reilly Media and considered the best technical guide to bitcoin and "The Internet of Money", a book about why bitcoin matters. Andreas offers strategic consulting to a small number of crypto-currency companies that are aligned with his interests. He also offers expert witness testimony as an expert in the security, technical details and use of crypto-currencies, worldwide.

Yoni Assia

Yoni Assia is the CEO of eToro, the world's largest social investment network. He has shown an interest in finance and computer science since his youth and so decided to merge his passions. It was this very passion along with the social revolution, which led to the founding and development of eToro's investment network, where users connect, share, trade and invest in the world's financial markets. Yoni is as passionate about his business, as he is for his family, wife plus 3 kids, which often results in excessive use of the word awesome, and hi-fives around the office. Bernardo Batiz-Lazo

Bernardo read economics (at ITAM, Mexico and Autónoma de Barcelona, Spain), history (Oxford) and received a doctorate in business administration (Manchester Business School). He has been studying financial markets and institutions since 1988. He joined Bangor as Professor of Business History and Bank Management after appointments in Leicester, Open University and Queen's University of Belfast.

He combined full time appointments with consulting and executive training in Europe, the Gulf states, Latin America and Asia. Bernardo has over 40 refereed articles, three books and eight distance learning books. Gregor Borosa

Gregor Borosa is a MSc Digital Currency alumnus, with a passionate affinity to Bitcoin, blockchain and beyond. He has a background in computer science and has worked for several years as a lead software engineer in the central bank of Slovenia, with expertise in mission critical systems, database design and development. He is also an instructor at the University of Nicosia's MSc program Digital Currency, where he is a lecturer in a course focused on the applications of the blockchain technology and a co-lecturer in the course about programming on the blockchain.

Daniel Burgwinkel

Dr. Daniel Burgwinkel leads Blockchain projects in Life Science and Digital Health with a special focus on the Guardtime Blockchain platform. In 2003 he started his research in smart contacts at the University of St. Gallen. His book "Blockchain Technology" was published in 2016 by Degruyter.com and is used for seminars at business schools in Switzerland.

Alice Corsini

Alice is Chief Operating Officer at Oraclize, a London-based startup providing the world most widely adopted blockchain oracle service. After her Bachelor Degree in Economics and Management from the University of Padua, she started working in the Blockchain Industry, having the opportunity to experiment a variety of its aspects, from the cryptocurrencies' financial importance to the implications of the blockchain as a technology. Alice is committed in divulging blockchain knowledge - she participated as a speaker at education-driven events, including "Forum PA" hosted by the Italian public administration and "Startup Intelligence" organised by Politecnico di Milano.

Sinclair Davidson

Sinclair Davidson is Professor of Institutional Economics in the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing at RMIT University, a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Affairs, and an Academic Fellow at the Australian Taxpayers' Alliance. He is a member of the Centre for Independent Studies Council of Academic Advisers. Sinclair has published in academic journals such as the European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Economic Affairs, and The Cato Journal.

Arnaud Dazin

George Giaglis

Dr. Giaglis is Professor of eBusiness at the Athens University of Economics and Director of Institute for the Future, University of Nicosia. He has published more than 150 research papers on eBusiness, Information Systems, Social Network Analytics and the organizational implications of digital money and blockchains. He serves on the Editorial Board of Ledger, the first academic journal on distributed ledgers and blockchains.

Bryant Joseph Gilot

Bryant Joseph GILOT, MD CM DPhil MSc simultaneously holds the title of Lead for Information Exploitation at the Center for Personalised Medicine at the University of Tübingen Medical Center in Germany and Chief Medical Officer at Blockchain Health Company in San Francisco. Dr GILOT earned a Bachelor degree from Duquesne University, a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery from McGill University, a Doctor of Philosophy in Immunology from the University of Oxford (Balliol College), and a Master of Digital Currency from the University of Nicosia. He trained in General Surgery, Cardio-thoracic Surgery, Heart and Lung Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support at institutions including Yale University, University of California (San Francisco), University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University and Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen in Germany. Dr GILOT's experience also includes two years as a Business Consultant in the Health & Financial Services Group at Accenture GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany.

He has a strong interest in bringing the capabilities of blockchain technologies to environments where the secure and rapid exchange of privileged and regulated information can be shown to deliver significant value.

Dr GILOT currently serves as a member of the IEEE working groups focusing on Personal Data and Individual Access Control as well as the IEEE P7006 Standard for Personal Data Artificial Intelligence (AI) Agent working group which are both part of the the IEEE Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems.

Ian Grigg

Ian Grigg is a financial cryptographer who entered the digital finance space in 1995. He invented the canonical design pattern for tying a legal contract to a digital asset issued over the Internet, known as the Ricardian contract. He also co-invented triple entry accounting which merges cryptography and bookkeeping to eliminate reconciliation and to allow accounts to be shared between corporations. Bitcoin is the world's first triple entry system at scale. He primarily works on exploring and building the next generation of identity and governance systems for users, and advising blockchain startups on architecture and business.

Adam Hayes

Adam Hayes, CFA is co-founder and CEO of ChainLink, a blockchain-based startup conferring tamper-proof certificates of title and authenticity to property and luxury items. Adam earned a B.S. from Cornell University and his M.A. in economics from the New School for Social Research in New York City. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in economic sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Adam has written a number of research papers on Bitcoin and blockchain technology, and is now an instructor for the University of Nicosia's MSc in Digital Currencies program. Before all of this Adam worked for over 15 years on Wall Street in the derivatives markets and in private wealth management.

She specializes in the field of IT and media industry in Japan, and is active in blockchain application in both financial and non-financial sectors. In the field of business matching, she has experience of open innovation in Japan. She graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University, and has been certified in UCSD Business Essential course.

Sergey Ivliev

Head of the Cryptoeconomics and Blockchain Systems Lab of Perm State University, Co-founder of Lykke - Swiss fintech company building a global market place. Regional Director of the Professional Risk Managers International Association in Russia. 20 years in IT and finance, over 100 developed IT systems for banks, over 100 organized events and articles in respected journals. He dreams of making financial markets better, faster and more inclusive with blockchain technology.

Astyanax Kanakakis

Astyanax is the CEO and co-founder of norbloc, a leading company in regulatory applications on blockchain platforms. He has spent more than 12 years in Finance and Consulting, most recently as Associate Partner in McKinsey & Company, specializing in banking and corporate finance. He was previously Chief Commercial Officer in KnCGroup, the bitcoin blockchain pioneer, and Chairman of the Board in XBT Provider, the global leader in cryptocurrency ETNs.

Yannis Karamitsos

Dr. Yannis Karamitsos (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.) has vast industry and research experience over 25 years as an executive manager who worked within the private and public sectors and experienced within European, Middle East and Chinese companies. From 2010 to present, Dr. Yannis is a Digital Transformation Technologist at Orange Business Services, with seven years of consulting experience working with clients to develop and deliver their strategies and transform their organisations into Smart and Digital Cities. Yannis is member of DSOA-Dubai Innovation Advisory Board. In 2016, he had joined the Department of Electrical Engineering as an adjunct professor at Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai. In addition, Dr. Yannis is academic coordinator for the executive diploma Digital Transformation towards to Smarter City provided by RIT Dubai.

He is particularly interested in applying Blockchain, Cryptography, Machine learning, IIoT, and data mining techniques to emerging problems related to large-scale decentralized cyber-physical systems and critical infrastructures as well as energy, mining, health care and other domains of major economic and social impact. Dr. Yannis received his PhD in Computer Science from University of Sunderland, UK, a Master Degree in Telematics Management from University of Danube Krems, Austria, and Bachelor Degree (Laurea) in Electronic Engineering from University of Rome "La Sapienza", Italy. Nikos Karapanagou

Mr. Nikos Karapanagou is Executive Chairman of Motivian. He holds 25+ experience in IT and Management. He previously held senior positions in various IT companies including Product Development Director and co-owner of ODOS and Sales Vice President at Velti, which followed from startup to NASDAQ IPO. Currently, he serves in the Board of various startups in the areas of Motivational Learning, Gaming and Sensor Management. Twice honored by Hellenic Mathematical Society, he ranked first in National Technical University of Athens. He graduated on 1995 and his Bachelor Thesis was in Parallel Computing and Transputer systems.

Konstantinos A. Karasavvas

Konstantinos A. Karasavvas is a computer scientist with more than 20 years of experience in software systems architecture and design in various projects. He is a generalist and a problem solver with expertise in systems engineering & architecture and blockchain technologies.

He worked in the industry in various different domains, from bioinformatics to the financial sector. Currently he is a Bitcoin and Blockchain technology engineer and consultant and is an active member of local Bitcoin communities, organizing meetups and presenting in events.

He holds a MSc in distributed multimedia information systems and a PhD in multi-agent systems and bioinformatics. He used to do research and lecturing in service-oriented architectures. He has spent more than 10 years working on distributed computing, multi-agent systems, web/grid services, workflow systems and data streaming and integration technologies leading to several publications in journals and conferences.

Yiannis Levantis

Mr. Levantis has most recently been Group CIO at BMI Group, a €3bn revenue & 11K employee manufacturing company. Previous to that he was Global IT Director at Rolls Royce Aerospace and Defence. Mr Levantis has also held senior technology roles in large corporations such as Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline and has extensive, global experience in technology strategy definition and execution of complex, multi-million/multi-year business transformation programs.

Mr. Levantis has also been a non-Executive Director on the Board of HCi Viocare (bio-engineering, sensors and IoT) since 2015, enabling collaborations with major brands in the automotive, healthcare and sports industries. He received a BEng Honours and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Finance from Aston Business School.

Soulla Louca

Dr. Soulla Louca is a Professor and the Director of the Blockchain Initiative at the University of Nicosia. She is one of the first academics to get involved in Blockchain technologies (2014) when she assumed the responsibility of the Blockchain Initiative at the University of Nicosia. The Blockchain Initiative has designed and developed the first MSc worldwide in Digital Currency, the technology for publishing academic certificates on the blockchain (http://block.co/) and organized several events including Decentralized 2017 (www.decentralized.com ). She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology. Prof. Louca has been involved in numerous international ICT projects including the National Science Foundation (NSF-USA). During the years 2008-2014, she served as the chair of the Domain Committee for ICT for the 36 Member States of the European program COST, participated in numerous pioneering research activities and promoted the ICT policy in Europe.

Spyros Makridakis

Spyros has held teaching and research positions with several European and American institutions: as a research fellow with IIM Berlin, an ICAME fellow at Stanford University and a visiting scholar at MIT and Harvard.

He is now the Director of the Institute for the Future of the University of Nicosia and an Emeritus Professor at INSEAD that he joined in 1970. He has authored, or co-authored, 24 books including Forecasting, Planning and Strategy for the 21st Century (The Free Press), Forecasting: Methods and Applications, 3rd ed. and Forecasting Methods for Management, 5th ed. (Wiley, translated in twelve languages and sold more than 120,000 copies) and Dance with Chance: Making Luck Work for You. He has also published more than 150 articles and book chapters. He was the founding chief editor of the Journal of Forecasting and the International Journal of Forecasting. Spyros' current interest centers on the uses and limitations of forecasting and what we can do with the resulting uncertainty and risk as well as the forthcoming Artificial Intelligence (AI) Revolution.

Alexandar Matanovic

Alex has been in the cryptocurrency business since 2011. He runs a local bitcoin exchange, has CoinTelegraph franchise for Serbia and is one of the founders of the Serbian Bitcoin Association. Last year, he finished his MSc studies in Digital Currency at the University of Nicosia.

Chiara Mazzone

Chiara Mazzone is Innovation Policy Officer in the Innovation and Startups Unit of DG CONNECT, European Commission. She has served for over 10 years in the public administration at local, regional and European level. She currently deals with various files related to start-ups and scale-ups, notably in the field of access to finance, FinTech and Blockchain.

Before joining the Commission, Chiara was at the helm of the Brussels Office of the Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (France), where she gained an extensive knowledge of the public sector in the field of research and innovation in close cooperation with local and regional stakeholders as well as national ministries. In the past, she served a local administration in France, assisting the Director-General on several policy files.

Chiara holds a Diploma in University of Pavia (Italy) and a Master in European Affairs, Law and Economics from Sciences Po (France), where she was associate professor in Urban Affairs for over 3 years.

Michael Merz

Michael Merz received his PhD in computer science in 1996 and has over 30 years of experience in IT development. As managing director of PONTON he has performed a large number of B2B integration projects and platform developments, specifically for the energy trading business. He is expert in blockchain technology with a focus on its application for decentralised trading of energy products.

Theodosis Mourouzis

Theodosis is a Research Fellow at UCL's Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UCL-CBT), Director of the MSc in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics at the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM) and a Visiting Professor at Innopolis University in Russia.

He holds a BA/MA and a Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics from University of Cambridge, a Master of Research (MRes) in Security Science and a PhD in Information Security and Cryptography from University College London (UCL).

His research interests lie in the area of symmetric cryptanalysis, optimization techniques in cryptanalysis, applications of data analytics techniques in fraud prevention and Blockchain security. He has consultancy experience across many countries including UK, USA, UAE, Canada, and Israel and he has been a consultant with many SMEs and big organizations including Lloyds Bank, Technology Strategy Board, Centre of Defence Enterprise and Peerplays Blockchain Standards Association (PBSA). He is Recipient of the UK University Cipher Champion 2013 award and he was a member of the Cypriot National team that represented Cyprus in International and Balkan Mathematical competitions four times.

Denis Norenko

Denis Norenko is Chairman of WS Financial and Investment Services Ltd. (WSFIS), one of the most experienced fund manager firms in Cyprus. Denis has more than 24 years of experience in Finance, having held C-level positions in banks before he founded WS Capital Group in 2004 in Moscow, Russia.

Denis believes that blockchain technology will revolutionize financial services and he is actively researching the challenges and the opportunities which are created by this tectonic shift in the industry, for investment firms as well as for their clients.

He was awarded the Master of Business Administration degree by London Business School.

Maria Papadaki

Dr Maria Papadaki is an Assistant Professor in the British University in Dubai (BUiD) and a Managing Director for the Dubai Centre for Risk and Innovation. She has over ten years of experience in Risk Management from both Academia and Industry, with numerous of years in the implementation, development, improvement and management of risk frameworks, tools and techniques. Maria worked previously for in Rolls-Royce plc, the University of Manchester and published numerous of conference papers and journals in the field of Enterprise and Portfolio, Programme and Project Risk Management.

Panayiotis Papadopoulos

Panos Papadopoulos is a partner at Marathon VC, an Athens based venture capital investing in tech startups. Prior to joining the finance world he was a co-founder and CEO at BugSense, a mobile analytics company that was acquired by Splunk Inc. He has invested in more than 20 startups and loves crypto-currencies, IoT and open source infrastructure.

George Papageorgiou

Mr. Papageorgiou is a former officer and Air Force jet aircraft engineer, with additional experience in Intellectual Property, technology management consulting and entrepreneurship. He has an MBA from Greenwich University and is currently pursuing a PhD on Digital Currency at the University of Nicosia. George administrates the MOOC and co-lectures the MSc courses "Open Financial Systems" and "Digital Currency in the Developing world".

Vidushi Savant

Dr. Vidushi Savant, MD is a psychiatrist on the clinical faculty at Stanford University and Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Savant Care, a private psychiatry practice in Los Altos, California. Dr. Savant conducts intensive research and development in machine-learning algorithms, neural networks, and artificial intelligence for tracking and predicting behavioral health issues, which she has deployed successfully at Savant Care. In 2017, she developed HealthChain, the world's first personal medical record (PMR) software that uses blockchain technology to encrypt patient data. Konstantinos Sgantzos is a computer programmer who, after earning his MSc in Natural Sciences, is now a candidate for MSc in Bioinformatics. He is an environmental scientist in power oil and energy speialized in air pollution. He is specialized in AI, cellular automata, turing complete machines, genetic algorithms. Fields of interests include but not limited to research in genetic disease diagnosis & cure using Big Data Mining techniques and mi-RNA, Si-RNA and CRISPR/Cas9 methods.

Yuka Shimizu

Yuka Shimizu is a management consultant at Nomura Research Institute, one of the biggest Japanese management consulting firm. She specializes in the field of manufacturing and automobile industry in Japan, and her activities include blockchain application in both financial and non-financial sectors. In addition, she has supported Japanese companies to cooperate with startups in order to enhance innovation in Japan.

She majored in economics, and is one of the first student to graduate from Dual-Degree program between Sciences Po Paris and Keio University.

Jamie Skella

Foresight strategist and entrepreneur Jamie Skella is considered a thought leader in technology design, building and advising businesses across blockchain, esports, and even future food. Formerly Executive Director at MiVote, Jamie is now Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Horizon State who are redesigning our democratic tools and processes atop of blockchain technology.

Volker Skwarek

Volker Skwarek has been studying Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He spent most of his industrial carreer for sensor- and system development in the automotive industry. In his last position he was head of global research and head of electronic development for a major automotive tier 1 supplier.

Since 2014 he has been nominated for a professorship in embedded systems at the Hamburg University of Applied Systems. There he leads a research group with the focus on ultra-low-power IoT-systems. Since 2015 he does research on industrial IoT connections to Blockchains combined with smart contracts.

Now he is part of several national and international organisations for IoT focused blockchains, security on blockchains, smart contracts and the definition on domain specific languages. Additionally he is convenor for ISO TC 307 (blockchains) and the study group SG 5 on smart contracts.

Evagelos Tabakis

Mr. Tabakis is the Head of Risk Management and Compliance in the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, responsible for financial and operational risk, business continuity, information security and compliance across the activities of the central bank. Previously he had been at the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt for fourteen years, holding positions in Market Operations and Risk Management. At the ECB he led teams designing, implementing and risk managing the large scale central bank operations in response to the financial crisis. Prior to his central banking career, Mr. Tabakis held academic positions at Yale University, the University of Bayreuth in Germany and the Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece. He holds a first degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics (Mathematical Statistics) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mark Torr

Mark is responsible for IoT and Advanced Analytics for Microsoft across the CEE region. He brings over 20 years of experience working with customers throughout the world, and across all industries, helping them to see how they can transform their business using a variety of technologies including, more recently, IoT and Blockchain. Mark is a TOGAF certified enterprise architect who holds a 1st class degree in Software Engineering from Hull University, England. He is well known in the field of analytics, big data and IoT having spoken on a wide variety of thought leadership topics at external conferences. He is an active blogger (www.marktorr.com), has over 22,000 Twitter followers and was recently named at #85 of the top 100 Big Data Experts and #62 of the top 100 IoT Experts to follow on Twitter. Kentaroh Toyoda

Kentaroh Toyoda received the B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from Keio University in 2011, 2013 and 2016, respectively. He is an assistant professor at Keio University. His research interest includes Blockchain-based decentralized system and data mining on cryptocurrency.

Vasos Vassiliou

Dr. Vassiliou is a professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus and the co-Director of the Networks Research Laboratory. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Academic and Research network (ΚΕΑΔ/CYNET).

Dr Vassiliou is a co-founder of UBINEC Ltd, an innovative start-up company working in the Internet of Things (IoT), smart homes, smart energy systems and energy data analytics areas.

Dr. Vassiliou's current research work is in the Internet of Things domain, where he and his team work on Security, Mobility, Traffic Congestion and Flow-control, and Data Management issues. He applies these to the Smart Home and Smart City context.

He has published more than 80 technical articles and scientific papers on topics that include Next Generation Network Architectures, Mobile Protocols, Mobile Networks, Wireless Communications and QoS and Traffic Engineering for computer and telecommunication networks.

He is the Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Cyprus Chapter, and the Academic Advocate for the ISACA Cyprus Chapter.

John Velissarios

John is an experienced expert Principal Director in Accenture's Technology Consulting workforce, based in London. He is part of Accenture's specialist security capability with over 19 years of consulting experience across multiple business and industry sectors. John has worked in many geographies around the world bringing an international perspective to his delivery teams and clients. John is currently leading several Blockchain engagements with top tier global organisations.

John is Accenture's Global Blockchain Technology Lead working with industry teams to develop the firm's global Blockchain delivery capability. John specialises in capital markets, payments and financial services but also has many years of experience in other industries. John returned from a long term leave of absence where he was the CEO of a Blockchain start-up developing leading edge enterprise grade crypto-currency wallet solutions for exchanges, hedge funds, banks and HNW individuals.

Prior to his leave, John was also the Europe Africa and Latin America lead for Accenture's security strategy and risk services practice. The practice provides services in: payments security, fraud management, business continuity, data loss prevention and privacy, risk management, security strategy, and threat and vulnerability management.

John holds a B.Comp.Sci. and M.Comp.Sci. degree specialising in cryptography and information security. John is a full (founding) member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals, IISP - M.Inst.ISP.
