From September 9 to 11, 2025, the beautiful coastal city of Limassol, Cyprus, hosted the 24th IFIP Conference on e-Business, e-Services, and e-Society (I3E 2025). The event gathered 44 academics, researchers, students, and practitioners from 15 countries, including the Netherlands, Sweden, and Qatar. Held at the luxurious St Raphael Resort and Marina, the conference provided the perfect setting for three days of insightful discussions, high-quality research presentations, and meaningful networking in the field of Computer Science.

The conference was hosted by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus, under the auspices of IFIP, the International Federation for Information Processing. Professor George A. Papadopoulos served as Conference Chair, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming environment for all attendees. “I3E 2025 once again highlighted how collaboration across borders and disciplines drives progress in Computer Science. We thank each and every participant for their contributions that made this conference such a success,” noted Professor Papadopoulos. The conference also benefited from the dedicated support of its co-chairs: Tiziana Catarci, Antonio Cordella, Richard Baskerville, and Dumitru Roman, who played a vital role in shaping the academic program and ensuring the scientific excellence of the sessions.

Academic Program

I3E 2025 explored the latest advances and pressing questions in Computer Science through three central tracks—e-Business, e-Services, and e-Society—each enriched by a wide variety of subthemes.

The e-Business track focused on innovative e-business models, inter-organizational systems, business process integration and re-engineering, e-marketplaces, portals, digital goods, user behavior modeling, mobile business, and business intelligence. Presentations also examined trust, security, dynamic pricing models, and enterprise application integration. The e-Services track highlighted areas such as e-service composition, service-oriented computing, semantic and web services, virtual organizations, agent-oriented services, and ubiquitous and mobile service management. Special attention was given to cloud-edge services, next-generation AI services, accessibility, usability, and enterprise ontologies. The e-Society track focused on the role of digital transformation in public and social life, including e-Government, digital inclusion, e-Health, e-Education, and e-Democracy.

Two keynote speakers inspired participants with cutting-edge insights. Professor Raian Ali from Hamad Bin Khalifa University presented his talk, Technology and Human Behaviour in the Age of AI: Where Psychology Meets Design, exploring the intersection of AI, psychology, and human-centered innovation. Professor Marinos Themistocleous from the University of Nicosia delivered his keynote, Digital Innovation and Neo-Entrepreneurship, which examined the role of entrepreneurship in shaping the digital economy.

Social Program

Beyond the academic program, participants enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and coastal beauty of Limassol, a city renowned for its lively culture, history, and Mediterranean charm. The welcome reception took place on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the sea, where guests shared canapés and local drinks while admiring the sunset over the Mediterranean.

The conference dinner was another highlight, featuring traditional Cypriot food, music, and drinks. These social moments gave attendees the chance to reconnect with colleagues, make new friends, and strengthen collaborations in an informal and relaxed setting, surrounded by the unique warmth of Cypriot hospitality.

As I3E 2025 successfully concludes in Limassol, the IFIP conference series looks forward to its next edition in Tampere, Finland. Known as the “Manchester of the North,” Tampere is a vibrant city blending industrial heritage with modern innovation, rich culture, and beautiful lakeside landscapes. It promises to be an inspiring location for the continuation of the I3E tradition of excellence.
