Dr. Konstantina Bereta is the Director of Research Labs at Kpler. She is a computer scientist and researcher specializing in big data, artificial intelligence, and geospatial analytics, with a particular focus on the maritime domain.
She holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Computer Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively on spatiotemporal databases, Semantic Web technologies, and large-scale data processing.
Konstantina has more than a decade of research experience and has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, focusing on AI, satellite data processing, and multimodal maritime data analysis.
Prior to her current role, she served as a Senior Researcher at MarineTraffic, which was acquired by Kpler in 2023. In her current position, she leads research projects that apply big data and AI to real-world maritime challenges, including vessel tracking, anomaly detection, and maritime situational awareness. Her work bridges academia and industry, contributing to both scientific advancement and practical innovation in maritime data analytics.
