Call for Papers
The European Association for Decision Making invites submissions for presentations, symposia and posters for its 2027 Biennial SPUDM Meeting, to be held at St. Raphael Resort in Limassol, Cyprus from Wednesday September 1-st to September 5, 2027.
Submissions on all aspects of judgment, decision-making and choice will be considered. Submissions may come from a broad range of relevant disciplines including Psychology, Economics, Management, Information Technology, Political Science, Health Sciences and more.
Ideally, submissions should be of interest to both academics and practitioners. It is anticipated that submissions will report empirical work, but purely theoretical contributions may be accepted.
Instructions for the various types of submissions are provided below.
All paper and poster submissions will undergo anonymous peer review by members of the Scientific Committee and volunteers drawn from the pool of abstract submitters.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday February 14, 2027 (midnight, Pacific Standard Time)
Paper Submissions
Submissions should include:
- Title of maximum 140 characters including spaces.
- Names and affiliations of the presenting (corresponding) author and co-authors.
- A short abstract of no more than 1,800 characters including spaces. The short abstracts of accepted papers, together with the title and the presenter/author details, will be included in the conference program.
- An extended anonymized abstract of no more than 4,500 characters including spaces, for the reviewers’ evaluation. The extended abstract should clearly specify the aims, method, findings, and conclusions of the research.
- Submitters will be asked to choose between a regular talk of 15 minutes or a flash talk of 7 minutes.
- Each participant can present only one paper. If more than one paper is submitted, the order of submission will determine priority for presentation.
- The submission page will ask for three to five keywords that best describe the submitted paper. Please provide the most informative keywords to help us group the presentations into thematic sessions effectively.
Symposia Submissions
Symposia consist of about four individual talks, but the participants have flexibility in structuring the 60-90 minutes sessions allocated to the symposium; e.g., the session may start with a general introduction and end with a short panel & audience discussion of the symposium topic.
Submissions should include:
- Symposium title of maximum 140 characters including spaces.
- Name and affiliation of the symposium organizer.
- An integrated anonymized abstract of no more than 4,500 characters including spaces. The abstract should introduce the theme of the symposium, explain the motivation for organizing the symposium, and outline the contribution of each included talk.
- Information on each of the individual talks, including the title of the talk, the name and affiliation of the presenting author, the co-authors, and an anonymized abstract of no more than 1,800 characters including spaces.
- The titles and extended abstracts of accepted symposia, together with the titles of the individual talks and the presenting authors names and affiliations will be included in the conference program.
Poster Submissions
Poster submission should include:
- Title of maximum 140 characters including spaces.
- Names and affiliations of the presenting author and co-authors.
- An anonymized abstract of no more than 1,800 characters including spaces.
- The titles of accepted posters together with the presenting authors names and affiliations will be included in the conference program.
- Paper presenters cannot present a poster
More Information about the Poster Sessions
-Posters offer the opportunity to present data and have substantive discussions with interested colleagues. Presenters will stand with their posters while the audience circulates among them stopping to discuss their research.
-Poster presentations should incorporate illustrative materials such as tables, graphs, photographs, and large-font printed text; all material should be clearly readable from three feet distance.
-Like all other presentations, posters should represent a complete work. Please do not submit a proposal if the data are still pending. Posters that discuss exploratory or innovative scientific findings are especially encouraged.
-Posters will be displayed on free-standing bulletin boards in a Vertical/Portrait layout. We recommend the poster size A0. Each poster is assigned a number that indicates where it should be mounted.
-Poster presenters or co-author(s) must be available beside their poster during the full designated poster session. We recommend preparing a handout explaining the work and making copies for distribution.
-During the meeting, the scientific committee will select three posters to be awarded the SPUDM poster award.
