Practitioners' Day

Practitioners’ Day at the XIX European Association for Research on Adolescence Conference (EARA)

The Practitioners’ Day as part of the XIX Conference of the European Association for Research on Adolescence (EARA), is hosted for the first time in Cyprus. The Conference will take place between 25 and 28 September 2024, at the St Raphael Hotel, Limassol. The Practitioners’ Day will take place on Friday, 27 September 2024, from 8.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. EARA | 2024 (cyprusconferences.org).

EARA is a multidisciplinary European research organization, engaged in scientific and applied research on a wide range of adolescent issues. The theme of the four-day EARA|2024 conference is Promoting Adolescent Solidarity and Well-Being. Today’s youth are growing up in an ever-changing, diverse and digitally world, characterized by significant challenges such as natural disasters, diseases, wars, economic and environmental crises and other social challenges.

Studies examining various dimensions of solidarity, such as social, emotional and intercultural competencies and moral values, will be presented, as well as studies exploring various aspects of adolescent development, including resilience, mental health, academic achievement, identity formation, citizenship, religiosity, family ties, peer relationships and romantic relationships. In particular, on Friday 27.9.2024, prevention and intervention programs will also be presented for: reducing bullying, integrating immigrants, cultivating environmental awareness, and healing traumatic experiences of war conflicts.

By promoting an understanding of these critical issues, we can work towards creating a more supportive and inclusive environment that fosters the well-being of young people and solidarity between them for a more peaceful world. It is expected to be beneficial, both for the scientific community and for teachers and health professionals, social workers and postgraduate students, who will have the opportunity to follow the latest scientific developments in adolescence.

There is a special participation fee of 120 euros for the Practitioners’ Day which includes:
