The 45th Annual Conference of the European Association for Computer Graphics took place from April 22-26, 2024, in Limassol, Cyprus.
The Eurographics Annual Conference, a premier event in computer graphics, captivated researchers, professionals, and enthusiasts. It showcased cutting-edge advancements and fostered collaboration, driving innovation. Notably, the conference featured keynote speeches, paper presentations, workshops, and tutorials on topics such as computer animation, virtual reality, visual perception, and rendering techniques.
270 academics, researchers, and practitioners from 28 countries, including China, Germany, Switzerland, and New Zealand, had the valuable opportunity to share research findings, exchange ideas, and explore emerging trends. They networked with leading experts and industry pioneers, making the event a hub for thought-provoking discussions and new collaborations.
Distinguished keynote speakers included Markus Gross, who presented “Bringing Digital Characters and Avatars to Life,” Tali Dekel with “The Future of Video Generation: Beyond Data and Scale,” and Ravi Ramamoorthi, who explored “Image-Based Rendering: From View Synthesis to Neural Radiance Fields and Beyond.” These presentations inspired attendees with groundbreaking insights, contributing to the conference’s status as one of the most anticipated events in Cyprus.
During the opening ceremony, the conference celebrated outstanding achievements in the field. Thomas Muller and Justus Thies received the “Young Researcher Award,” Christian Hafner and Philipp Henzler were honored with the “PhD Award,” and Daniel Cohen-Or and Markus Gross earned the Gold Medal for their exceptional contributions. Anat Levin received the “Outstanding Technical Contributions Award,” and George Drettakis was presented with the “Distinguished Career Award.”
Beyond the academic program, attendees enjoyed Cypriot hospitality through a reception party and optional excursions, including the CYENS opening ceremony.
The Eurographics Association, a leading international organization, advances computer graphics and interactive techniques. It supports research, education, and collaboration in the field while hosting conferences, workshops, and publishing high-quality research papers.
CYENS, University of Cyprus and Cyprus University of Technology , serving as the local organizers of Eurographics 2024, is led by Conference Chairs Yiorgos Chrysanthou and Fotis Liarokapis.
