The 19th International Conference on PhD Research in Microelectronics and Electronics (PRIME 2024) successfully concluded from June 9-12, 2024, at the Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca. The conference, which featured a diverse program, brought together more than 100 attendees from 15 countries.

PRIME 2024 showcased a wide spectrum of research topics in Microelectronics and Electronics, building bridges between various research fields. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in technical sessions, keynote talks, exhibits, and social events. The conference was technically co-sponsored by IEEE and IEEE CAS, and accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore, subject to IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.

The conference was co-chaired by Prof. Julius Georgiou (University of Cyprus) and Prof. Alexander Fish (Bar-Ilan University).

The following researchers were awarded the Golden Leaf Award for their outstanding research contributions:

  • Guglielmo De Filippi: “A 170 GHz 5.5 dB NF Low-Noise-Amplifier in 55nm SiGe BiCMOS”
  • Siyu Tan:Asynchronous vs Synchronous SAR ADCs – Performance Beyond Nominal Speed”
  • Luca Tegazzini:Design of a Hardware-Efficient Floating-Point Multiplier with Dynamic Segmentation”
  • Alessandro Domenico Minnella:A Comparison Between Single and Differential-Ended Doherty Power Stages in GaN Technology for 28-GHz 5G Applications”
  • Davide Pecile:On the Efficiency of Output-Matched Radiofrequency Power Amplifiers”
  • Moria Sassonker Elkayam:Design and Discretization of Multi-Resonant Current Controllers”
  • Ciro Scognamillo:Enhancing Electrical Ruggedness in Double-Sided Cooled Power Modules”
  • Francesco Gagliardi:A PVT-Robust Beta-Multiplier Current Reference with Body-Effect-Based Temperature Dependency Modulation”
  • Minoo Eghtesadi:A 28-nm CMOS 60-GHz LNA for OOK Low Power Receivers
  • Mehdi Otmani:Extension of Quasi-Load Insensitive Class-E Doherty Operation with Complex Load Trajectories”

The Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca, a luxurious  4-star venue, provided a comfortable setting for the conference. The hotel boasts modern facilities, exceptional service, and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Loukas Petrou, the Technical Program Committee Co-Chair commented “PRIME 2024 has been an incredible experience, and we are deeply grateful to all the participants and sponsors for their valuable contributions. The turnout was fantastic, and we had over 70 papers presented, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our community. We believe several factors contributed to this success. First and foremost, the quality of the research presented was outstanding. Our participants brought forward cutting-edge work that sparked insightful discussions and collaborations. Additionally, the beautiful city of Larnaca provided a perfect backdrop for the conference. Its stunning beaches and warm hospitality made it an attractive destination for attendees. Finally, the exceptional organisational skills of EasyConferences and their ability to adapt to unexpected situations ensured a smooth and enjoyable conference for all participants.”

EasyConferences was the local coordinator, responsible for conference management, the abstract/paper submission system, and the online registration system.

Photos of the conference will be uploaded here. PRIME 2024 participants are encouraged to share their photos via email to yi@easyconferences.eu or through any internet-based file transfer platform.

A survey regarding the conference will be sent to attendees in the coming days. We appreciate your feedback to help improve future events.
