PROS/PHILOS 2024

The 15th Process Organization Studies (PROS) Symposium and the 4th PHILOS Colloquium took place between 21 and 27 June 2024 at Coral Beach Resort in Paphos, Cyprus.

The 15th Process Organization Studies (PROS) Symposium and the 4th PHILOS Colloquium took place between 21 and 27 June 2024 at Coral Beach Resort in Paphos, Cyprus. More than 170 researchers from 21 countries attended the two co-located conferences, presenting their innovative work and engaging in thought-provoking discussions.

The theme of PROS wasImprovisation, Resilience, and the Ongoing (Re)Construction of Organizations,while PHILOS focused onHuman Conduct and the Good Life: Ethics and Organizing.These themes underscored the significance of adaptability, ethical considerations, and continuous organizational development in today’s dynamic world.

The PROS Symposium featured keynote speeches by distinguished scholars:

  1. Brian Massumi, Université de Montréal, presentedThe Parainstitutional Imperative: Towards an Anarchism of Value.”
  2. Kathleen M. Sutcliffe, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, discussedResilience: Some Ideas.”
  3. Anne Miner, Wisconsin School of Business, exploredTaking Organizational Improvisation to the Next Level?”


The PHILOS Colloquium also hosted insightful keynote addresses:

  1. Carl Rhodes, UTS Business School, delved intoWhat’s So Good About Business Ethics?”
  2. Professors Mollie Painter and Sotirios Bahtsezis captivated the audience withReimagining ‘Good ConductThrough Art… in 3 Play(ful) Acts.”

The events were convened by an esteemed group of scholars. PROS conveners included Michelle Barton, Miguel Pina e Cunha, Paula Jarzabkowski, Mark de Rond, Ann Langley, and Haridimos Tsoukas.

On the other side, PHILOS conveners were Alessia Contu, Mollie Painter, Jörgen Sandberg, Haridimos Tsoukas, and Mike Zundel.

EasyConferences was the local coordinator, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.

Attendees had the opportunity to connect with fellow researchers and expand their professional networks through the welcome receptions and conference dinners.
