Presenter Guidelines

Before Your Session

  • Please arrive at your assigned presentation room 10–15 minutes before the start of your session.
  • Before the session begins, introduce yourself to the Session Chair/Moderator, who will confirm your name, presentation title, and the order of presentations.
  • If you have not already done so, upload your presentation to the presentation laptop before the session starts. 

Presentation Equipment

Each presentation room will be equipped with:

  • A presentation laptop
  • A projector and screen
  • A presentation clicker
  • Audio equipment, where required

Please bring your presentation on a USB drive in Microsoft PowerPoint
(.pptx) or PDF format.

To ensure smooth transitions between speakers, please copy your presentation
to the desktop of the presentation laptop before the session begins. We
recommend doing this before the first session of the day or during a coffee
or lunch break.

Presentation Format

  • Oral presentations will follow the order published in the conference programme.
  • If a presenter is absent, the Session Chair/Moderator may invite the next speaker to begin.
  • Each presentation is allocated 12 minutes.
  • This will be followed by 3 minutes for questions and discussion.
  • The Session Chair/Moderator will provide time reminders to help speakers remain within the allocated time.

Presentation Tips

To ensure the best experience for the audience, we recommend that you:

  • Use clear, concise slides with limited text.
  • Ensure that all figures and tables are readable from the back of the room.
  • Use high-contrast colours and sufficiently large fonts.
  • Practise your presentation beforehand to ensure that it fits comfortably within the allocated time.
  • Avoid making last-minute changes immediately before your session.
  • Engage your audience by making your presentation as interactive and
    engaging as possible. Where appropriate, encourage questions, use
    practical examples or case studies, and create opportunities for
    discussion. We value presentations that stimulate dialogue, facilitate
    the exchange of experiences, and promote active participation.
