Did you know?A Lake That Turns Pink

The Larnaca Salt Lake is one of the most unusual natural features on the island, constantly shifting between two completely different identities. During the winter months, rainfall fills the basin, attracting migratory birds, including large flocks of flamingos that give the landscape a surreal, almost pink-toned appearance. It’s calm, reflective, and unexpectedly elegant for something that will soon vanish.
the ground. The transformation is so dramatic it feels like two separate places occupying the same coordinates.
Lefkara is a picturesque mountain village famous for its lace making (lefkaritika) and traditional silverwork, with narrow streets and well preserved stone houses. Located approximately 40 km southwest of Larnaca, it offers conference participants a charming cultural escape to experience local craftsmanship, heritage, and village life.
Larnaca Honey Villages refer to a cluster of traditional villages in the mountainous areas of the district, known for their long standing beekeeping traditions and production of local honey and related products. Located approximately 35–45 km from Larnaca, they offer conference participants a scenic rural escape where they can experience authentic village life, local flavors, and Cyprus’s apiculture heritage.
Larnaca Old Town offers a pleasant walking route through a mix of coastal promenade and historic streets, where visitors can explore key landmarks such as the Church of Saint Lazarus, the lively Finikoudes Promenade, and the historic Larnaca Fort. Late afternoon to early evening is an ideal time to visit, and the walk typically takes around 60–90 minutes, allowing time to stop at small local cafés and enjoy the relaxed coastal atmosphere.
Mackenzie Beach is known for its lively atmosphere, sandy shoreline, and long stretch of beachfront cafés and restaurants. It reflects the city’s contemporary coastal lifestyle and is also part of the route of the Piale Pasha. Located next to Larnaca International Airport, it is also ideal for a final stop before departure, allowing visitors to enjoy the seaside atmosphere right before their flight.
Oroklini Beaches are known for their calm, shallow waters, organized beach spots, and relaxed local atmosphere, making them especially suitable for families. Located approximately 8–10 km northeast of Larnaca, they offer conference participants an easy seaside escape to unwind, with early morning or late afternoon being ideal times for a swim.
Salt Lake is a unique natural landmark known for its seasonal transformation, drying into a white salt crust in summer and attracting flocks of flamingos during winter. Walk Where Myths Were Born

Did you know? The Philosopher Behind the City’s Name

Zeno of Citium, the founder of Stoicism, was born in ancient Kition (modern-day Larnaca). His philosophy emphasized logic, self-control, and resilience, which feels especially relevant when dealing with travel delays or conference schedules that pretend time is flexible.
His influence spread across the ancient world, shaping Roman thought and later Western philosophy. Not bad for someone from a coastal city now mostly known for beaches and airport arrivals.
Beyond the VenueLarnaca
Lunch Break DiscoveriesLarnaca
- Radisson Beach Hotel
- Adams Beach Hotel
Step out of Radisson Beach Hotel and within minutes you’re on Phinikoudes Beach, which is basically Larnaca’s way of showing off without trying too hard. The palm-lined promenade stretches along the coast with cafés, benches, and a beach that’s famously calm and shallow, making it more relaxing than impressive, which is exactly what you need in a one-hour break.
Walk along the promenade, grab a quick coffee, or sit facing the sea and let your brain slowly restart. Everything is flat, accessible, and annoyingly convenient, so there’s zero excuse to get lost or waste time figuring things out.
Tips: Ideal for a stress-free break. Early morning or late afternoon is quieter and less sun-aggressive. If you walk a bit further down the promenade, you’ll escape the busiest café clusters and find calmer spots to sit.

Right outside Adams Beach Hotel, Nissi Beach is the obvious choice and annoyingly hard to resist. Within 2–3 minutes, you’re on one of the most famous beaches in Cyprus, with white sand, ridiculously clear water, and a shallow lagoon that stretches out toward a small islet you can actually walk to when the tide is low.
Just head straight out toward the beachfront and you’re there. Spend your hour walking along the shoreline, dipping your feet, or doing a quick crossing to the islet if you’re feeling adventurous but still pretending to be responsible. It’s visually impressive without requiring effort, which is exactly what a break should be.
Tips: Go early or later in the afternoon if you want anything resembling calm. Midday turns into a social experiment involving music and crowds. Keep it light, a full swim plus drying time is how people “accidentally” miss sessions.

Did you know?Where the Journey Starts Before the Best Beaches

Most visitors heading to the famous beaches of Protaras and Ayia Napa actually begin their journey in Larnaca, making it the unofficial gateway to some of the island’s most iconic coastlines. Within less than an hour, the scenery shifts from Larnaca’s urban seafront to the crystal-clear waters and white sands that define the eastern coast.
For conference participants, this means access to some of Cyprus’ best beaches is surprisingly straightforward. A short drive connects arrival and relaxation, turning Larnaca into more than just a transit point. It quietly links the island’s entry point with its most celebrated seaside experiences, whether at Fig Tree Bay or Nissi Beach.
