Call for Expressions of Interest to Organize Special Sessions

The Organizing Committee of the 15th International MEDPOWER conference is pleased to invite institutions, groups, networks, and project consortia to express their interest in organizing special sessions at the Conference.

MEDPOWER2026 provides the opportunity for engineers, scientists, technicians, researchers, scholars and companies to exchange ideas and discuss the latest research achievements in academia and industry. It aims to offer a forum for networking and collaboration through a series of presentations, talks, exhibitions and special sessions. The conference will cover all aspects of power system design, operation, and planning, including AI and digitalization in energy systems as well as energy communities. The 15th international MEDPOWER conference will be held from 3 to 6 November 2026, in Paphos, Cyprus, and is organized by Frederick University and the IET Cyprus Local Network, with the support of the IET Greece and Malta Networks, and the technical support of the IET.

Special Session Organizers are provided with the opportunity to bring together their stakeholders and experts to discuss specific topics, showcase innovative projects, and facilitate networking.
Special sessions can take various formats, including panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, and presentations, and may be scheduled as plenary or parallel sessions during the conference. All Special Session Presenters/Speakers should be registered for the Conference.

Submission Guidelines
To propose a special session, please submit a brief statement of interest or an abstract of 300 -500 words outlining the following:

-Session title and brief description, including the topics to be addressed and their relevance to MEDPOWER thematic areas.
-Session format and proposed duration.
-Names and affiliations of session organizers and speakers
-Expected outcomes and benefits to participants.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:

-Relevance to the conference theme and overall mission
-Originality and innovation, and the extent to which the session provides an interactive forum for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to engage in critical dialogue, build networks, or share their innovations and research.
-Clarity and coherence of submission

Important Dates

-Proposal submission opens: 1 March 2026
-Proposal submission deadline: 31 July 2026
-Notification of acceptance: 10 August 2026 (rolling notifications for early submissions)
