Education
The 5th Educating the Educators Conference (ETE 2025) successfully took place in Limassol, Cyprus, bringing together 120 participants from 26 countries, including Germany, Morocco, and Japan. The event offered a dynamic platform for educators, researchers, practitioners, and students in STEM education to exchange ideas, explore new practices, and engage in meaningful dialogue on how education can meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
This year’s conference was held at the luxurious St. Raphael Resort and Marina, a five-star venue that matched the discussions’ excellence. The conference theme, Technology, Sustainability, Interdisciplinarity, and Diversity, framed the entire program and set the stage for rich and multifaceted academic exploration.
ETE 2025 was proudly hosted by the Consortium of the International Centre for STEM Education (ICSE) in partnership with the InSSTER Center at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, and the ICSE Academy project. Notably, this conference also marked the final event of the ICSE Academy, bringing its work to a close with a strong academic and community impact. As Conference co-chairs, Katja Mass and Maria Evagorou were instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the event.
The academic program was structured around four main thematic tracks: Diversity in STEM Education, STEM Education in the Digital Era, Interdisciplinarity in STEM Education, Sustainability, and STEM Education. Each track focused on pressing issues, offering space for open exchange and collaborative learning across multiple education systems, classroom practices, and policy perspectives.
Academic Highlights
The 5th Educating the Educators Conference featured a lineup of renowned keynote speakers who offered bold insights into the future of STEM education:

The academic program was further enriched by interactive workshops, including the dedicated Teacher’s Day, designed specifically for classroom educators across Europe. A Poster Session also provided space for emerging voices in the field to showcase their work and connect with experts.
In the words of Maria Evagorou, Conference Co-Chair:
“Thank you to all participants who made ETE 2025 such an inspiring and collaborative experience. Your contributions show that by working together, we can move STEM education forward in inclusive and sustainable ways.”
Culture, Connection, and Cyprus
Beyond the academic sessions, participants had opportunities to connect socially and explore the beauty of Cyprus. A guided tour of Limassol, including the Limassol Marina, the Old Town, and the historic castle, allowed participants to engage in local culture and history. Limassol’s unique blend of coastal charm and modern sophistication was the perfect complement to the conference’s international atmosphere.
The conference dinner was held at a traditional tavern with panoramic views, where guests enjoyed authentic Cypriot cuisine, local wines, traditional music, and a spirited evening of dancing—a true celebration of connection and culture.
The 5th Educating the Educators Conference proved to be more than just a conference—it was a milestone event in building a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and sustainable future for STEM education. As the ICSE Academy project concludes, its legacy continues through the ongoing efforts of educators and institutions committed to innovative teaching and professional development.
