Department Coordinator of the Resilient Society of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Project Manager of the Marine Spatial Planning sector of the Cyprus University of Technology & Eratosthenes CoE
Dr. Christodoulos Mettas serves as the Coordinator of the Resilient Society Department at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence of the Cyprus University of Technology, where he also oversees and coordinates the Centre’s Service portfolio. Since 2013, Dr. Mettas has been centrally involved in the development and implementation of Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) in Cyprus, playing a key role in advancing MSP from a research-driven concept to an operational policy tool. His work has supported the alignment of national practices with European and International frameworks, fostering sustainable management of marine and coastal resources through integrated planning approaches. His primary research interests include the application of Remote Sensing and Earth Observation technologies in the Marine environment, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Geoinformatics.
