COMPETITION PROPOSALS
We are glad to announce the third edition of the AAMAS Competition track at AAMAS 2026.
Competitions are an effective mechanism for motivating researchers to enhance discussions, share knowledge, and boost the development and evaluation of theory and practice of autonomous agents and multiagent systems. By proposing challenging competitions to the AAMAS community, competition proposers contribute to pushing the state-of-the-art in specific areas or to solving problems of practical importance.
We invite competition proposals on topics of interest to the AAMAS community. We encourage submissions from emerging areas or novel application scenarios relevant to the AAMAS community. Submissions from established areas for which the competition may serve as a stimulus to advance theory and practice or renew the interest of young researchers in the area are also welcome. We highly value interdisciplinary topics that have the potential to attract a significant cross-section of the community.
If the accepted competition involves the development of tools and platforms for supporting agent development, the proposer(s) will be encouraged to submit a Demonstration paper at AAMAS 2027 summarizing the design, development, and outcomes of their competition at the 2026 conference.
At least one proposer of each accepted competition is required to register and attend the conference to run the finals of the competition and/or to announce the winners.

- Title of the competition
- Brief description outlining the competition’s aims and objectives
- Competition history, if applicable (e.g., whether it has been run at previous conferences)
- Relevance and importance of the competition to the AAMAS community, including its significance to specific research areas
- Timeline and milestones, including (but not limited to): (a) Release of the Call for Participation; (b) Submission deadline; (c) Participant notification.
- Competition rules and guidelines
- Plan for sharing results, such as providing open access to participants’ source code or competition datasets
- Software, hardware platforms, and datasets to be used
- Evaluation criteria used to judge submissions
- Expected number of participating teams
- Duration of the competition event during the conference (e.g., half day, one day)

- Brief bios of the organizers, highlighting their experience with or readiness to manage competitions
- Contact information of all proposers (full names, affiliations, and institutional email addresses)
Evaluation Criteria
The submission and selection processes for the competition proposals will be separate from the main conference. Each submission will be assessed by the Competition Program Committee, and the proposers will receive a brief evaluation report. The evaluation criteria are:
- Relevance and importance to the AAMAS community
- Significance and expected impact on specific AAMAS areas
- Expected participation level
- Qualifications and preparedness of the organizers
- Commitment to open access for results, code, and/or datasets
- Feasibility of logistics, including availability of required resources (e.g., space, equipment, connectivity)
