DEMONSTRATIONS

The AAMAS Demonstrations track offers a unique platform for researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry to showcase cutting-edge developments in agent-based software and robotic systems. We particularly welcome demonstrations of novel applications, interactive systems, and real-world deployments. Submissions from student researchers are strongly encouraged. A “Best Demonstration” will be selected and awarded by the Demonstration Program Committee.

We invite demonstrations of systems that include, but are not limited to:

  • Agent-based applications in real-world domains, such as transportation, smart grids, e-commerce, healthcare, and energy.
  • Interactive and embodied agent systems, including human-robot interaction, swarm robotics, and autonomous agents operating in physical environments.
  • Language-enabled agents, including agents powered by large language models (LLMs) that can perceive, reason, plan, or coordinate with others through natural language in autonomous or multiagent settings.
  • Agent systems in virtual environments, including simulations, games, and virtual/augmented reality platforms.
  • Tools and platforms supporting agent development, which include development environments and tools to assist developers in the specification, design, implementation, and testing of agent systems.

Accepted demonstration papers will be included in the AAMAS proceedings. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference to present a live demonstration in person.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: Jan 09 Jan 12, 2026
  • Author Notification: Feb 06 Feb 13, 2026
  • Camera-Ready Paper Submission Deadline: Feb 25, 2026
  • Author Registration Deadline: Mar 31, 2026
  • AAMAS 2026 Demonstrations: 27–29 May 2026

All deadlines are at the end of the specified day, Anywhere on Earth (UTC-12).

Submission Requirements

Each demonstration submission must consist of a short paper, a video, and, for student projects, a supervisor endorsement note. In particular, the submission requirements are as follows:

1. Paper. The paper should include a maximum of four pages and be structured as follows:

  • Pages 1-2 should describe the system to be demonstrated. More precisely, the authors are encouraged to discuss the application domain, the problem scenario, the technology used, the agent/multiagent techniques involved, the system’s innovations, the system’s live and interactive aspects, etc.
  • Page 3 should include bibliographic references.
  • Page 4 should specify any technical or logistical requirements for the demonstration setup at the conference (e.g., the required space, power outlets, poster stands, or any special equipment).
  • Papers must be prepared using the AAMAS 2026 format and submitted as PDF files. Please note that demonstration papers do not undergo double-blind reviews, and therefore, authors are encouraged to include their names and affiliations. Please do not modify the style files or any of the layout parameters. The use of LaTeX is mandatory.

2. Video. The paper should contain a URL linking to a demonstration video of no more than 5 minutes in duration (QuickTime or YouTube format). The video URL should be included preferably on the first page of the paper. The video should clearly showcase the system and may include:

  • A brief introduction to the concept or system and its intended users
  • The system’s main features and benefits
  • Key innovations and technical components (e.g., architecture, agent-based methods)
  • A demonstration of the system in action

3. Supervisor Endorsement (for student projects only). A brief note from the student’s supervisor describing the student’s contribution to the project. This document must be attached at the end of the paper and does not count towards the page limit.

  • Accepted Demonstration papers will be included in the AAMAS proceedings.

Selection Process

The submission and selection processes for the AAMAS 2026 Demonstrations will be separate from the main conference. Each submission will be assessed by the Demonstration Program Committee. The authors will receive a brief evaluation report with the notification. The evaluation criteria are:
Relevance to the AAMAS conference
Novelty, significance, and potential impact in the intended application domain
Quality and clarity of both the submitted paper and the accompanying video
Ability of the demonstration to engage audiences
