Catherine works on employment issues, both contentious and non-contentious and has specific expertise in complex multi-jurisdictional and High Court litigation (especially bonus and employee competition disputes) board level disputes and data protection. Her practice is primarily employer focused, with a particular interest in the financial, media and technology sectors. On occasion, Catherine also acts for senior executives in those sectors.

Enthusiasm for both the academic and practical application of law in the employment sphere distinguishes Catherine from her peers and this is reflected in the publications to which she has contributed. Catherine is a joint author of Employment Law Checklists (3rd Edition, published by OUP 2009) and a contributing author to both editions of Employee Competition (2nd Edition, published by OUP in 2011). In the latter publication, Catherine co-wrote the chapter on the international dimension of employment disputes and was solely responsible for the chapter on pre-action tactics.

Catherine is a member of and sits on the management committee of the Employment Lawyers Association as Treasurer. She is also a member of the Industrial Law Society, European Employment Lawyers Association, IBA and ABA.
