Peter is a partner in the Employment Law team at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP. He has practiced for 30 years and is known as one of the leading employment litigators in the UK.

He has been involved in a large number of high profile and complex employment disputes, often involving new points of law, the bulk of his cases being conducted in the traditional UK forums of the UK Employment Tribunal and the High Court of Justice of England and Wales. But more recently his experience has involved more cross-border disputes and different types of resolution of employment disputes including mediation, early neutral evaluation and arbitration.

In 2012 Peter speculated to the UK Employment Lawyers Association that one of the effects of some important reforms to the procedural rules in the High Court would be to make employment law practitioners and their clients more interested in using arbitration to resolve domestic and cross- border employment disputes. Last year he delivered a presentation with Paul Goulding QC at the UK Employment Lawyers Association annual conference as to how this would operate and the types of employment dispute for which arbitration would be best suited.
