Caterina is a partner at the Milan office of Bird & Bird, and is co-head of the Employment Group in Italy, which she built from scratch.

Caterina handles all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, covering Italian and international issues. She regularly advises on employment contracts, senior executive contracts and terminations, restrictive covenants, protection of confidential information and trade secrets, transfer of undertakings, collective redundancies, and mergers and acquisitions.

Caterina has substantial experience dealing with specific procedural and jurisdictional issues also in cross-border cases. She has also appeared before the European Court of Justice in the Job Centre case (freedom to provide employees placement services).

Caterina has 25 years’ experience in employment law, having dealt with this matter even before her admission to the Italian bar. She is an active member of EELA as well as of the Italian Employment Lawyers Association (AGI). Caterina has been an assistant professor at the employment law department of the University of Milan for 10 years.

Caterina is the Italian correspondent for the European Employment Law Cases (EELC) the official journal of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), and a contributor for the Italian section of “Business Transfers and Employees Rights”, an international leading work on the acquired rights directive (ARD) implementation within the EU, coordinated by Professor Mc Mullen.

Caterina speaks fluent Italian, English, German, French, and Spanish.
