Jeremias is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Magdalen College. He read law at Oxford and the University of Paris II, as well as Harvard Law School.

Jeremias’ principal research interests are in the fields of Employment Law, Corporate Law, and European Union Law. In Employment Law, he focuses on the regulation of fragmenting labour markets and comparative research into European employment law in times of crisis, and has published articles in the Law Quarterly Review, Industrial Law Journal, Europäische Zeitschrift für Arbeitsrecht, Revue de Droit du Travail, and the European Labour Law Journal. He is the author of The Concept of the Employer (OUP 2015), and co-editor of The Autonomy of Labour Law (Hart 2015).

Jeremias’ work in European law includes co-founding the EU Law in the Member States Series (Hart | Bloomsbury Publishing). The first volume, co-edited with Professor Mark Freedland QC(hon) FBA, was published in 2014 to explore the reception and implementation of the CJEU’s decisions in Viking and Laval across different Member States.
