Klaus-Stefan Hohenstatt has been a partner with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1997 and works in the firm’s Hamburg office. He specialises in individual and collective law, particularly in a corporate restructuring and M&A context. He is an expert on senior executive compensation and deals with their service contracts, pension and share-scheme arrangements. He advises a broad range of German companies and multinationals with a focus on the services industry, media (printing and publishing), general industries and the consumer and health care sectors.

Klaus-Stefan is co-editor of the go-to book on employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructurings (Umstrukturierung und Übertragung von Unternehmen, 5th edition in preparation, Beck Verlag, Munich 2015). He also teaches employment law at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, and is the German board member of the European Employment Lawyers Association.

Since 2010 he balances his client practice with a hands-on role as the firm’s Regional Managing Partner for Germany and Austria.
