Kostis Bakopoulos is a founding partner of the Athens Law Firm “Bakopoulos Katharios”. Kostis has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 1987 and the Greek board member of the European Employment Lawyers Association since 2010.

The law firm advises national and multinational entities, and senior executives, on all areas of individual and collective labour law. Kostis has extensive experience in handling and litigating individual and collective termination cases, cases involving amendment of employment terms, corporate restructurings and asset transfers as well as collective bargaining and industrial action situations.

Graduated from the Law School of the University of Athens, Kostis then pursued his PhD in Employment Law at the Freie Universität in Berlin.

Since 2009 Kostis balances his private practice with his academic activity as an Assistant Professor at the Athens Law School. He is quadrilingual in Greek, German, English, and Spanish, and author of numerous articles and other publications with focus on employment law. Kostis is frequently invited abroad to present his views on the (still ongoing and very difficult) process of implementing reforms in the Greek employment legislation.
